Puri Celebrates International Yoga Day with Mass Participation at Blue Flag Beach
Under the theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," public representatives, officials, students and citizens joined hands to promote health, wellness and mental well-being.
Yoga is important for all of us. It is like a panacea for health, wellness and mental stability. Therefore, Deputy Chief Minister Parvathi Parida has called upon everyone to include yoga in their daily routine. Today, the Puri district level International Yoga Day was celebrated at the Puri Blue Flag Beach by the District Administration and Sports Department. Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Parvathi Parida attended as the chief guest. Yoga has not only become popular in our country but the whole world has accepted it and is celebrating International Yoga Day today. This year's theme is Yoga for Healthy Ageing. Therefore, he requested everyone to come forward for yoga. Puri Lok Sabha MP Dr. Sambit Patra, on the call of the Prime Minister, yoga is being practiced all over the world. The role of yoga for health has always been important. He said that the spread of yoga in the whole world is a symbol of the efficiency and transparency of our country. Among others, Brahmagiri Vidyayika Upasan Mohapatra, District Collector Divya Jyoti Parida, SP Pratya Singh, DFO Magar Dhanji Raoso, Additional District Collector Administration Sarat Chandra Behera, Additional District Collector Protocol Neelmadhav Bhoi, Shrimandi Steering Committee Member Madhu Sudan Singhari, Puri Yoga Mahotsav Samiti Coordinator Baidyanath Mahasuar, Alok Swain, Jambeswar Khuntia were prominent participants. Various yogas were performed as per the protocol of International Yoga Day in the yoga activity. The program was conducted by District Sports Officer Chandan Kumar Sahu and other officials and staff. Officers of various departments, senior citizens, intellectuals, common people, students of various educational institutions, media representatives participated in it and learnt and performed yoga. On this occasion, Yoga Day was celebrated in various blocks, panchayats and urban areas of the district.
