BENGALURU — In a milestone for India's semiconductor ambitions, deep-tech startup VegaCore unveiled "Param-X" — the country's first 7nm AI inference processor designed and validated entirely within India.

The chip targets edge inference workloads in retail, manufacturing, and defence, with the company claiming 3.2x energy efficiency over comparable Nvidia and Qualcomm offerings at similar throughput.
